We face shortage of water. All the villagers do not receive clean drinking water.
Road infrastructure is weak.
Unemployment is also a grave issue.
The quality of education is very poor. Every village does not have schools. Children walk long distance to reach schools. So the drop out rate is high. Health infrastructure is poorly maintained. Unavailability of medicines makes the situation even worse.

The administrative headquarters of this district is Palanpur.
Banas Kantha has a population of near 20 lakhs in its 10,751 sq. km. area.
Banaskantha borders with Rajasthan state in the North, Sabarkantha district in East, Kutch district in South and Patan and Mehsana district in the South.
In the year 2000 parts of this district were broken off for the formation of Patan district.

Other details
Famous Ambaji temple in Ambaji, is at the foot of Aravalli mountains near the mouth of Saraswati river.
