There is acute poverty in Koderma.
Unemployment is another grave challenge here.
People from Koderma migrate to metros in search of jobs.
Jharkhand is a Naxalite area, so from the past few months we have
been going through hell.
Government should make some efforts to develop the lives of the
tribes living in Koderma. Many NGOs have also made efforts to make
these tribes literate.
Domestic violence is pervasive.
Brief About Koderma District
Koderma is formed by trifurcating the erstwhile Hazaribag
district in 1994. It is known as the Mica Capital of India.Koderma
and Tilaiya is the only two important towns in the district besides
five blocks. Height from the sea level is 397 m. It holds importance
because of mica was being produced. Sheet mica was produced only
from Koderma in the whole world. This mining scenario continues
upto 70's. Best quality of stone chips is being produced at &
around Domchanch. The five blocks in the district are namely Koderma,Jainagar,
Markacho,Satgawan and Chandwara.

acquired the status
of an
independent district
on 6th December, 1972, has a close linkage with the
parent district Hazaribag.Lying
almost in the central part of the North Chotanagpur
Divison ,the district isbounded on the north
by Jamui and some
part of Nawada district of
bihar, on the
east by the
districts of Dhanbad,
Jamtara and Deoghar
,on the south byBokaro and some part
of Dhanbad district
and on the west
by Hazaribag
and Kodarma district. Giridih is the administrative
headquaters and the principal
town of the
district. The district has been this name for abandance
of mountain and hillocus in the district.Total
area of the district is 4853.56 sq kms
