| Are all
NGOs on IndianNGOs.com donation channel credible NGOs ?
The answer to the question is not a simple yes or
no, simply because there is this fundamental issue of credibility
from whose eyes ? Donors or communities.
Secondly, having been in the field for about a decade, we have realised
that there are a lot of NGOs working across districts of India who
are doing wonderful work. Just because we do not know their credibility,
does not mean they are not credible.
However, we not only care for the donor's money, but also want
the donor to be more active in selection of the NGO, first by checking
with us about our experience, then talking to the NGO, and also
the current donors of the NGO.
As indicated in the home page, the NGOs that will be listed in
this section will be of three types.
NGOs from IndianNGOs.com database of Credible NGOs
NGOs recommended by corporate volunteers / CSR departments / Funding
Agencies, who themselves are willing to fulfill the questions of
the potential donors
NGOs belonging to movements like Swadhyay movement, which has lakhs
of followers who may like to donate to like minded organisations
Will IndianNGOs.com charge NGOs for
sharing their details ?
No
IndianNGOs.com will not charge NGOs any basic fee or any success
fee for donations received by them
Do we offer Pay Roll Giving opportunities
No.
However, our partner organisation CSR Consulting is promoting a
basic module of PRG through HR departments directly to NGOs. This
new structure will have following benefits over most of the current
PRG modules.
1 It will mean that 100% of the donation will be given to the NGO.
2 It will mean that an individual can make a case to the organisation,
to give their donations to the NGO of their choice, rather than
limiting the NGO choice to those offered by current organisations
working in the PRG field. It will also help such individuals to
promote donations to such NGOs from their peers.
3 Most of the manufacturing organisations which have plants at district
level, can take a call to offer donations from plant level employees
to not just local NGOs, but can create their own programmes like
construction of road or rebuilding of the main road that leads from
highway to district , or giving water filters in nearby slums ...This
will help organisations build better bond with their neighbourhood
communities.
4 The funding needs and their priority changes at times and most
of the times, this will not get reflected in the PRG system, or
it will take anywhere upwards of 2 to 3 months for such change in
the system. With the PRG at the HR level, this can get changed easily.
And if the corporate has its own foundation, the entire PRG can
be routed through the foundation.
5 The NGOs will give 80 G or other certificates to the employees
faster because CSR department can have their own influence or power.
