Indian Government

India’s fourteenth Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh is rightly acclaimed as a thinker and a scholar. He is well regarded for his diligence and his academic approach to work, as well as his accessibility and his unassuming demeanour.

In what was to become the turning point in the economic history of independent India, Dr. Singh spent five years between 1991 and 1996 as India’s Finance Minister. His role in ushering in a comprehensive policy of economic reforms is now recognized worldwide. In the popular view of those years in India, that period is inextricably associated with the persona of Dr. Singh.

What we want from the Government

Opportunity to share
IndianNGOs.com will be inviting constructive criticism with suggested solutions from thought leaders, issue experts and activists on various social, developmental and environmental challenges India is facing. The same will be shared with the respective ministers and ministry officials every two months. This programme starts in January 2010 and related research work will start from November 2009 with three shared resources.

IndianNGOs.com suggestion
Water is too big an issue and the PM can not invest the desired time on all aspects of water. IndianNGOs.com therefore want the PM to handover the Water Portfolio to a dedicated minister.
