"Akanksha is a rare testimonial
to Human Spirit and Initiative by the citizens of Mumbai.
Having developed and sustained a methodology that reaches
out to over 4000 underprivileged children, Akanksha provides
hope where there is not much to hope for and even less to
dream. Due to their endeavours we are confident that thousands
of underprivileged children will at least have a future.
DSP Merrill Lynch is proud and privileged to work closely
with this outstanding organization across a number of initiatives.
Akanksha has helped us in our endeavour to be socially responsible
and we are grateful to them for the association."
Hemendra Kothari
Chairman, DSP Merrill Lynch |

Akanksha
believes that clear goals and a structured approach will
enable us to best deliver results to the Akanksha students.
Akanksha tracks individual child performance and attendance
across centers. Each center also follows a "model center"
process, where monthly meetings encourage team members to
define focus areas and implement initiatives that move each
center closer to its vision of a "model center." Every six
months there is a formal review of each center and every
year we compile a non-financial center audit.
While Akanksha's impact is most accurately defined by the
stories scattered through Akanksha site, here are a few
trends that we have observed
