The Alpha Foundation is a
registered charitable trust with a mission to work
for upliftment of the underprivileged sections of
the population, especially children. The main activity
of the Foundation is to provide administrative and
financial support to IRS.
The Alpha Foundation made a modest beginning
in the year 2004 by starting one full fledged school
in Hyderabad, called the IRS. And now The Alpha Foundation
has 6 full fledged schools, four in Hyderabad, one
in Kolkata and one in Bangalore. And 12 schools promoting
formal and non-formal education in different slums
of Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. The Alpha Foundation
also established 27 Alpha Center for Learning (ACL) promoting non-formal education, vocational training, and
adult literacy in different slums of Hyderabad, Tenali,
Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Pune.
2674 children benefit from the direct interventions
of The Alpha Foundation
1000 children benefit from the Alpha
Center for Learning (ACL).
4666 children benefit from the private partnership
with the Alpha Foundation.
Icfai Republic School (IRS)
The
first full-fledged Icfai Republic School (IRS) was started
in 2004 to provide quality English medium education,
free of cost, to the children living in Fatehnagar,
Hyderabad and surrounding areas with a large concentration
of very low-income families. The IRS, Fatehnagar presently
has nearly 1000 students from Nursery to Class X. Apart
from free education and nutritious food, these students
get textbooks, notebooks, shoes and socks, uniforms
and all required stationery at highly subsidized rates.
The nominal amount that is collected from them is given
back in the form of gifts, prizes and cash awards, thereby,
making education practically free for them. Read
